Bayern Munich release white home kit for 2023/24 season
Bayern Munich have released their home kit for the 2023/24 season made by adidas.
It is a major departure from traditional Bayern shirts, with a white base tone accompanied by red sleeves. The German champions say the kit is a nod to the shirt worn by the Bavarians in 1965, when they were promoted to the Bundesliga.
The new home strip will be worn for the first time by Bayern’s men’s team in their league clash with RB Leipzig on Saturday. The women’s side will adorn it in their fixture against Turbine Potsdam on 28 May.
Bayern stalwart Thomas Muller said: „The colours red and white have been with me all my life. With this traditional design, the new home kit stands for the success story of FC Bayern Munich.“
Women’s midfielder and Germany international Lina Magull added: „When you think of FC Bayern, images in red and white immediately come to mind. Even as a child, my room was decorated in these colours and it’s a dream to be able to wear them on the pitch. The new jersey combines history and elegance – and we want to do justice to these colours.“
‚Rot & Weiß ein Leben lang‘ (red & white for life) features on the collar partnered by club motto ‚Mia sam mia‘.
Lisa Datz, senior product manager at adidas football, added: „The combination of red and white represents the identity of FC Bayern Munich – and has done so for more than a century. These colours represent pride, unwavering confidence, and great triumphs.
„With this new kit we are highlighting the importance of these colours to the club and can’t wait to see it on the pitch and on the fans as we embark on the next chapter of the red and white success story together.“
