Attention turns back to the FA Cup on Tuesday when Manchester City travel to face Bristol City in the fifth round.

Bristol City haven’t lost in 2023 and have climbed their way up to the middle of the Championship table, narrowly behind the West Brom side they beat in the fourth round to set up this tie with the reigning Premier League champions.

Pep Guardiola’s City have already seen off Chelsea and Arsenal to get here and will be in good spirits after their 4-1 thumping of Bournemouth at the weekend.

Here’s all you need to know about this one.

Bristol City team news

There are no fresh fitness concerns for Bristol City, whose list of absentees is pretty hectic already.

Ayman Benarous, Rob Atkinson, Kal Naismith, Kane Wilson and Tommy Conway are all out, while Harry Cornick and Anis Mehmeti are both cup-tied.

Neutral fans may want to keep an eye on 19-year-old attacking midfielder Alex Scott, who is being tipped for a move to the Premier League in the near future.

(4-2-3-1): O’Leary; Tanner, Vyner, Kalas, Pring; James, Williams; Sykes, Scott, Bell; Wells,

Man City team news

Defender John Stones remains injured and won’t be rushed back for this one, while the unwell duo of Aymeric Laporte and Kevin De Bruyne may get a little more time to recover as well.

Expect plenty of rotation from Guardiola, whose preferred formation is a real mystery these days.

(3-2-4-1): Ortega; Walker, Dias, Ake; Gomez, Phillips; Mahrez, Perrone, Gundogan, Foden; Alvarez.

Bristol City’s unbeaten streak is impressive but they’ll need a minor miracle to maintain that against a small Man City squad whose rotated lineup could still compete for the Premier League title.

Guardiola’s side have seen off two of the pre-season favourites in this competition already and should have no problems navigating a mid-table Championship side who have just climbed up and away from the second tier’s drop zone.

Expect a comfortable win for Man City.

Prediction: Bristol City 0-3 Man City
