Chelsea have announced that their 2022/23 WSL curtain raiser against West Ham will be played at Stamford Bridge.

The fixture will be the second time that the women’s team have played at Chelsea’s main stadium, having kicked off the 2019/20 season there against Tottenham in front of over 25,000 fans.

The match takes place on Sunday 11 September, with an earlier kick off time of 12:30 (BST).

Chelsea have become the latest WSL side looking to capitalise on the momentum generated from Euro 2022, with Arsenal and Manchester City both also announcing a selection of fixtures to be played in their main stadia during the new season.

„We’ve all enjoyed getting behind the players this summer and watching their progress in the Euros,“ said Chelsea boss Emma Hayes. „What a great opportunity we have to welcome everyone back for this important first match of the season. We’ve missed ours fans and hope to see the Bridge packed out!“

The Blues head into the 2022/23 season vying to win a record fourth successive WSL title, following their dramatic final day triumph last term.

They will face a West Ham side who will be under the guidance of new manager Paul Konchesky in a competitive fixture for the very first time.

General sale tickets will be available from £9 for adults and £1 for juniors and seniors, and can be purchased online. Chelsea FC Women season ticket holders will be able to claim a free ticket, and will have the option to sit together.
