Juventus are ready to sell superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window and would be willing to strike a deal with Manchester United to bring Paul Pogba to Turin in his place.

The 36-year-old has spent the past three seasons with I Bianconeri but has failed to deliver them the coveted Champions League trophy, while eating up a gargantuan portion of their wage bill.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri struggled to utilise the Portuguese star effectively in their one season together in 2019, and now he has returned to the dugout, the Italian would like to free himself from the shackles of having to satisfy the ageing Ronaldo, according to La Gazzetta.

Juve see only two realistic exit strategies for the football legend: Paris Saint-Germain and Man Utd. The road to Paris appears to be blocked by the club’s determination to tie down Kylian Mbappe to a new deal while Neymar renewed his contract in May, making Old Trafford a more possible destination.

I Bianconeri are eyeing the possibility of getting something – or someone – in return from the Premier League giants. The Italians are hoping to conjure a reunion of their own and bring Pogba back to Turin as part of the deal.

The 28-year-old excelled under Allegri during his time in Serie A, convincing Man Utd to pay €105m for his services in 2016. Pogba’s future has been shrouded in doubt for some time however, and he is constantly linked with an exit from Old Trafford.

A swap deal could satisfy both parties then, allowing the Red Devils, who are searching for another winger, to be reunited with a club legend, while Pogba is able to return to the club where he played his best football.

However, Man Utd are not completely sold on the idea. Not only would they require Ronaldo to take a pay cut to join them, but they would also demand money from Juventus as part of the swap deal, as they see Pogba as a more valuable asset than the Portuguese legend.
