LAFC predicted lineup vs FC Dallas – MLS
LAFC will aim to keep their win streak alive when they take on Western Conference foes FC Dallas at BMO Stadium this weekend.
Fresh off a 3-1 defeat to LA Galaxy, FC Dallas will now be tasked with taking on another Los Angeles based club in the form of LAFC. It’s been a dire season for Dallas thus far, and things could continue to get worse after their contests vs the Black and Gold Saturday night.
LAFC, on the other hand, have managed four consecutive league victories to position themselves in third place in the Western Conference table with 27 points, just one behind their bitter rivals the Galaxy. Head coach Steve Cherundolo has refreshed his tactics with a 3-4-3 setup due to the limited number of midfielders he had available, and it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see him revert back to his preferred 4-3-3 with Ilie Sanchez back in the mix.
Here’s how LAFC could take the pitch against FC Dallas.
GK: Hugo Lloris – The former France international kept his sixth clean sheet of the season last time out vs Minnesota.
RB: Ryan Hollingshead – Hollingshead returns to his usual right-back position after taking up shop at left-wing back.
CB: Jesus Murillo – Murillo gets the starting nod at right center-back after featuring on the right of a back-three on a couple of occasions.
CB: Aaron Long – The USMNT defender starts alongside Murillo in the backline.
LB: Omar Campos – After a late second-half cameo vs the Loons, the former Santos Laguna player slots in at left-back from the jump.
CM: Timothy Tillman – The 25-year-old hopes to continue his excellent season that’s seen him find the back of the net four times.
CM: Ilie Sanchez – Sanchez makes a return to Cherundolo’s XI for the first time May 11 after recovering from a leg injury.
CM: Eduard Atuesta – Like Sanchez, Atuesta is also making a return to the mix after serving a one-match suspension after he picked up a second yellow card in LAFC’s 1-0 win over Atlanta United.
RW: Cristian Olivera – The Uruguay international looks to wreak havoc on the Dallas defense from the right-hand side.
ST: Mateusz Bogusz – He’s no doubt flowing with confidence after getting on the scoresheet in his last two matches.
LW: Denis Bouanga – The reigning Golden Boot winner will be hungry to add his 10th goal of the campaign in a bid to remain near the top of scoring charts.
