Will there be a Welcome to Wrexham Season 4?
After months of uncertainty, FX finally announced the fate of a potential Welcome to Wrexham Season 4, and fans across the globe are basking in the news.
Before Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham A.F.C. in 2020, the oldest club in Wales was stuck in the National League, playing season after season without much fanfare beyond their city of proud supporters. Then, the two multi-millionaires invested their time, capital, and creative expertise and showcased the magic of the Red Dragons to the entire world.
Welcome to Wrexham, the docuseries that follows the club as they fight for promotion after promotion in the football pyramid, already has five Emmy awards and earns more critical acclaim with each new season. In fact, Welcome to Wrexham Season 3 is not even finished yet, and fans are clamoring for a Season 4.
Fortunately, Reynolds and McElhenney finally revealed the future of the fan-favorite series.
Yes, there will be a Welcome to Wrexham Season 4. Reynolds and McElhenney announced the renewal news at Disney’s Upfronts, promising fans another gripping season coming in 2025 on FX and Hulu.
“Wrexham AFC has exceeded all expectations on the pitch and with fans, scoring back-to-back promotions under the leadership of Rob and Ryan and rising to compete in League One next season,” said Nick Grad, President of Original Programming at FX Entertainment.
“Welcome to Wrexham is scoring big too,“ he continued, „winning five Emmy Awards and a fourth season that will continue to document the team’s remarkable journey and its impact on the Wrexham community and growing legion of fans worldwide.”
Although Welcome to Wrexham Season 4 is still a long way away, fans can expect a minimum of eight episodes that detail the team’s journey in League One for the first time since 2004.
If the storybook script continues for the Red Dragons, then they just might earn a third straight promotion to the Championship come next year, and cameras will be there to capture all the highs and lows.
